What is User Experience (UX) writing?

User experience (UX) writing or Content Design is the art of crafting the texts that appear throughout the interface of digital products (websites, mobile apps, interactive screens, etc.). Just as in the world of traditional publishing, this text is referred to as copy. But UX writing differs from copywriting in that it aims to guide the customer through the interface in an intuitive manner. Think of the user experience like a Choose Your Own Adventure book—the experience adapts to the customer’s journey.

As the apps and websites that we use become increasingly complex, the need for clear guidance is vital. More so, as these digital products become a necessity in our everyday lives, we the consumer are drawn to digital products that give us the most natural and fluid experience. Experiences that feel human.
